# Pensionado cards and visas: what each one costs

A Pensionado retiree deals with three documents from Immigration: a processing card while the application is in process, a multiple entry and exit visa to travel during that time, and the permanent residency card once approved. The fee table of Executive Decree 320 of 2008 sets B/. 30, from B/. 50 to B/. 200, and B/. 100.

## The processing card: B/. 30, valid six months

Immigration issues a processing card to everyone who files a residency application, valid for six months. The fee table lists B/. 30 for it. We found no rule that extends this card, so the application should be resolved within those six months.

## The multiple entry and exit visa: from B/. 50

Without this visa you cannot freely leave Panama and come back while your application is in process. It can be issued for up to five years. The fee is B/. 50 for less than a year, B/. 100 for the first year and B/. 25 for each additional year, so five years cost B/. 200. Once you are a resident, you enter and leave without it.

## The permanent residency card: B/. 100

Once your permit is approved, you are registered with a permanent number and receive your permanent residency card. For permanent residents the fee table lists B/. 100; the table has no line for Pensionado as such, so we confirm the amount with Immigration before you pay. The permit itself is indefinite: what expires is the card, not your residency.

## Your dependents

Spouses, children and dependent parents are processed as dependents of a permanent resident, and the exemption that spares the main applicant the B/. 250 fee and the B/. 800 deposit is written for the main applicant only. Our cost breakdown shows each dependent’s fees line by line, marked “to confirm” until Immigration confirms them.
